Daily Inspiration: Meet Rosa Cruz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Cruz.

Hi Rosa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
So I had just recently graduated from South College with a degree in health science pre-nursing, and I was lost in what to do next, and I knew I wanted to do something big I’m living because I have been a single mom to my 3-year-old son anyways. I was looking for what to start, and I saw that beauty Is a big thing and well. I thought about hair, eyelashes, nails, cooking, clothing, etc., a lot of things, but everyone here in town in Sevierville has something, but no one has teeth whitening; I went to California in June 2022; That’s where I’m from. I was inviting my mother. Teeth whitening is a big thing out there, but no one does it here, so I started my own. I got all the information I needed, and I got my certificate. I’m so proud and blessed where I am now! So when I came back from California, I drove there and back. I was thinking about how to start or whether people will want to Do it. Apart from opening my own business, I’m a server, I asked many of my coworkers if they would do it, and they said yes. So I got everything I needed in the kit and believed in myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, it was so smooth a lot of people were interested. In my first week, I had 6 clients; next week 4, next week 2, next week 1, then now I’m just waiting. I haven’t had clients just because people who know me know about it, not others. Getting clientele is the hardest, but I also have people waiting for special dates to get them done.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is teeth whitening. I’m the kind of person that always puts myself down because my teeth were always too yellow or just a little bit yellow, but I always thought they were big yellow. Teeth whitening it’s a big way to get confidence back. It doesn’t matter if you have straight teeth. The white your teeth are, the bigger you can smile. The thing I am most proud of is not about opening my own business but about why I opened my own business. I had my son at the age of 16 because I wanted him. If I said I wanted him, I was ready to have a kid. Ever since that, I have done the best that I have ever done. I have fallen, but I have gotten up higher since I fell. I never give up. I will never give up because I want to be the best so he can have the best. I will always be someone to look for another way. If I ever try to give up, I will find a different way for a different thing, if that makes sense. If I fall or something, I will get up bigger. I always try to grow.

What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In five or 10 years, I see myself as a strong motive woman for my son. I want my son to be proud of his mother, who raised him alone. I want to be the first homebuyer in my family, and I want to open a little location of teeth whitening because here in Sevierville, it’s a tourist town, and who wouldn’t want to get their teeth whitened on vacation results in the same day? I want to show young girls never to give up even though they have a kid because if you believe in yourself, you can do it.
