Conversations with Desiree Watson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Watson.

Hi Desiree, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Back in 2020, my two best friends bought me a camera for Christmas and I haven’t put it down since! I’ve always dreamt of traveling and working around the world and I’d be lying if I said my dreams haven’t come true.

I manage a full-time photography business that captures memories for individuals all over the world!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One thing I have learned as a traveling photographer is not everyone understands this industry. On the outside looking in it looks like clicking a button and traveling around the world.

For us, it’s sacrificing sleep to edit, managing business finances alone, keeping track of clients’ wants/needs, and balancing work/home life. For the most part, photography has been a smooth road but like any other job — there have been lessons I have learned along the way! I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in large weddings, couples, micro weddings, and elopement photography. I am most proud of the relationships I have made with my clients and other creatives. What sets me apart is the style of editing I use!
