Community Highlights: Meet Lisa LeCoultre of Real Hot Yoga Farragut

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa LeCoultre.

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I relocated to Knoxville 8 years ago from the Midwest and immediately fell in love with the city and the beauty of East Tennessee. Starting over after a big life change, I was focused on raising my children here and calling Knoxville my forever home. I have always been grounded in my yoga practice and the connection to mind and body with regular practice. Yoga has been a huge part of my mental and physical health journey for over 20 years, and I had never heard of or tried hot yoga. I found the Real Hot Yoga studio in Knoxville and was forever changed. I fell in love with yoga all over again. The heat brought me a different, physically challenging element, and I was hooked. I met my husband, Brad, around this same time, and I shared with him that the regular practice of hot yoga was making such a huge difference in me and my life, and I felt that Real Hot Yoga was something incredible. When the pandemic shut the studios down, I still took their live stream classes and turned our main bathroom into my hot yoga studio using 4 space heaters and the steam shower. I was serious! Once we got back into the studio, I began to go every day again, and it felt great to be back with the community and committed to my regular practice. In December 2021, real hot yoga began advertising franchising opportunities with many territories available throughout the country. Brad and I discussed how wonderful it would be to bring another location to East Tennessee, be a part of this fantastic growing brand, and bring yoga to another community in Knoxville. We signed with real hot yoga as Franchisees in May, and we are so excited that we have finally opened our doors to the Farragut community this month!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The build-out and the opening process had their moments of challenges but overall was a great experience. My husband and Co-Owner of our Franchise is a Licensed General Contractor and was the builder for our location. He worked tirelessly to help keep us on track with our timeline, and any delays we experienced were primarily due to the availability of materials. I started hiring our incredible staff of gifted Yoga Instructors in August, and we have the most fantastic team. Several instructors also work at the original location in West Hills and have a broad reach across the community. I was also able to hire new teachers to add to the diversity and talent of the team.

We’ve been impressed with real hot yoga Farragut, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a franchise location of real hot yoga located in Farragut. Real Hot Yoga was founded in Knoxville by Cindy Coats, Aaron Goodman, and Jeff Morin. The original location is in the West Hills area, and the company has corporate locations in New Jersey and Johnson City. Real hot yoga began franchising opportunities last year, and we are excited to bring this business to Farragut. We offer 40 classes and are open 7 days a week. Our class time range from as early as 5:30 am to evening classes starting at 7:30 pm.

We strive to offer a great selection of class types and times to fit any fitness level or busy schedule. We have 5 styles of classes offered in a heated room for all levels. Yoga is accessible to every person. There is a misconception that you must be flexible or super fit to do yoga. Yoga is an individual practice; with that, you can give yourself grace and practice over and over and discover more about yourself in every class you attend; every class is different and can be just for you. This is one thing that is so important to me. I want to offer a space for everyone to feel welcomed and learn the benefits of yoga and how regular practice can transform your life. Not only is it fitness, with actual results, but it’s also a great way to work on your mindset and connection with yourself. Doing yoga in a heated room also offers the benefits of a cardiovascular element to the workout with the heat. The heat also allows the muscles to be more relaxed and pliable as you get deeper into the stretching and the postures. For new clients, we offer a special 30 days of unlimited yoga to try all the styles of classes and experience real hot yoga. We have monthly membership options as well as class pack options for clients.
