Check Out Marcus Hall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Hall

Hi Marcus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Knoxville native Marcus Hall followed his dream of designing and manufacturing custom-made menswear when he founded Marc Nelson Denim in 2011. The business, named after his grandfather who taught him to always look sharp, took inspiration from the Levi Strauss factory, which employed many of his friends and family members for 44 years before closing its doors in 1997. Today, Marc Nelson Denim continues the legacy of the Levi Strauss factory by providing local jobs, producing quality, American-made clothing, and maintaining a global presence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. The first 5 years where some of the toughest I’ve ever had. Just when I thought we were on a roll Covid came. Now the way people work and employment struggles have become another challenge.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specailze in mens apparel. Started in the denim world and evolved denim into a full mens lifestyle brand. From golf to MTM suiting. What sets my brand apart from mother brands is th experience and the limited number of pieces we make in each season.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The people I feel that have made the most impact in my life are my mother who taught me to sew. My Greta grandfather who always instilled in me and my brothers no matter who you are the janitor or the mayor you always want to leave the house looking like somebody. Hes the Nelson in the Marc Nelson
