Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a full-time remote employee and a Mom of 2 young boys. Working from home has its advantages, but like every job, there are also some disadvantages. I missed the human connection lost while sitting behind a computer screen at home. Late in 2021, Permanent jewelry was becoming all the rage in larger cities across TN and the US. I decided our small town in West TN needed this trend, and I was going to figure out how to make that happen. After studying larger companies in Nashville and Dallas, I learned this concept would be just the hobby I needed to get me back out amongst the people! After coming to the end of the Internet research, I went in head first, not knowing what my hobby would turn into! We are approaching our first year in business and have locations throughout the south. West TN, Knoxville, Middle TN Chattanooga, Oxford, MS, Northwest Arkansas, Jackson, Ms, and Auburn, AL.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My husband and I both have full-time jobs outside the business we started. We continue finding the balance between family life and work; it can be challenging. Juggling the work-life balance is already difficult, but we decided to start a business. Luckily, we have a vast support system. My husband and right-hand, Elliott, stepped up early when we scheduled more events than I could handle. My parents and Elliott are always willing to step in and help out with our boys. We have been very fortunate this year and hope to continue growing as a family and a company.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Goldn Company is a solid 14k gold permanent jewelry company based in West Tn. We use 14k gold chains to create rings, anklets, bracelets, and necklaces. We have recently added diamonds to our inventory, carrying 2 different cuts, a baguette, and a round. We have Locations across the south in Knoxville, middle TN, Chattanooga, TN, Oxford, and Northwest Arkansas. Jackson, MS, and Auburn, AL! We hope 2023 brings us new growth and locations across the United States! I am proud of building this business that other people want to be a part of! What sets us apart from other permanent jewelry companies is we are truly a small business. Everyone who has joined our company has been family, friends, and friends of friends, everyone sharing the common goal of connecting with people. What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The size of the city is both what I like best and least. The vastness of Knoxville works to my advantage for expanding our customer base. However, at the same time, it sometimes takes longer for the word to spread in larger places!
