Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Kirkland.
Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I think I’ve always had a passion for creative things growing up, and for as long as I can remember, I have always dabbled in anything artistic. Then later on when I got my hands on my first computer ever (Which looked like one of those old Apple computers you used from school), “remember those? Anyway, I was hooked. So, it was a no brainer to me, when I decided to invest some time into trying out a course and chose website design, after that the fire was lit. I knew that was what I wanted to be doing. Fast forward to today that’s exactly what I’m doing, but so much more. I didn’t just want to be out there creating just pretty websites. I knew how hard it is to start and run a business, and I wanted to help other businesses to conquer one it’s biggest challenges, “getting your name out there”.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, and It still comes with its challenges, but getting started, at least in my opinion, is always the hardest part of the journey. No matter the industry you’re in, you have to allow your customers to get to know, like, and trust you. It’s especially important in the beginning.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a WordPress web designer, specializing in conversion-based design to help small to medium-sized businesses grow in the digital world. The best part of my job is to sit down with these businesses and really learn what their struggles and pain points are, and build them a solution that elevates those pain points and keeps them growing in the future.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
If you truly believe in something with all your heart, don’t give up on it, no matter how hard it gets. We only get one life to live. Why not do what you love?
