Today we’d like to introduce you to Camron Phipps.
Hi Camron, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began working exclusively as a diesel/heavy equipment technician in 2017 for a small trucking company. When I began with them I had it in my mind that I would work hard and learn as much as I could, with a greater plan always in the back of my mind. After a short time there, I made my way into the heavy equipment side when I took a position with an underground mining company. Once again I had my sights set on attaining as much knowledge as possible to add to my skillset while keeping my end goal in mind. I spent almost 5 years in the mining industry with multiple equipment dealers and one mining company. With the knowledge and skills that I developed over this course of time, I decided to take the leap and start my own company. In 2023, Phipps Equipment Services was born. Now, in addition to doing the same type of work as before, I have been able to add more services as the business has grown. I pride myself in the quality and attention of my work and I am always setting new goals for the business to ensure growth. I thank God, my family, and my customers each and every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting your own business is definitely not for the faint of heart. There have been lots of long hours and late nights, but it’s all worth it in the end. Being able to reap the benefits of your hard work and dedication is very fulfilling. The biggest struggle for myself has been the ability to turn it off and take a step back when needed, it’s very hard to do when you are the owner and operator of the business. You can’t just rely on someone else to pick up the slack or finish the job at hand.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Keep your word. Show up when you said you would,. Do what you said you would do. Even if you have nothing else, you will always have your word.
