Life & Work with Kelly Webb of South Knoxville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Webb.

Kelly , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Mystic Meadows was born from two things: my love for creating magical experiences—and the deep transformation I’ve been through in my personal life. I’m a single mom, and after years of navigating pain, healing, and rediscovering who I am, I wanted to create something beautiful—not just for others, but as a reflection of the peace and joy I’m building in my own world.

I’ve always loved fantasy, fairytales, and little details that make people feel special. I started Mystic Meadows with the dream of offering not just picnics, but moments of escape and wonder. Whether it’s a cozy setup in the forest or a luxury picnic in someone’s backyard, my heart is to help people slow down, reconnect, and make memories.

Starting a business as a mom with ADHD and no background in events has been a huge learning curve, but it’s also been empowering. Every setup I create feels like a small celebration—not just of my clients, but of how far I’ve come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth? Not even a little! 😂 Starting a business as a single mom has definitely had its challenges—from chasing toddlers while trying to chase marketing ideas, to wondering if people around here even want a luxury picnic. There were moments I thought, “Did I just create something beautiful that no one’s going to book?” Self-doubt has been real.

The biggest struggle has honestly been visibility—getting the word out, helping people understand that this isn’t just a picnic, it’s an experience. Plus, juggling everything solo means I wear all the hats: designer, marketer, customer service, cleaner, and snack supplier for my toddler. But even with the bumps, it’s been so worth it. Every setup feels like a small win and a step toward something really special.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Mystic Meadows is all about creating magical, intentional moments through luxury picnics. I specialize in dreamy, custom-designed setups that make people feel like they’ve stepped into a fairytale—whether it’s a romantic date, a birthday, or a cozy forest tea party with friends. Every detail is curated to bring joy, connection, and a little bit of escape from the everyday.

What sets Mystic Meadows apart is that I offer a private 2-acre forest location for the most enchanting, tucked-away experiences—but I also travel to wherever my clients want their special moment to be. That flexibility allows me to bring the vibe to them, not just make them come to me.

I think what I’m most proud of is that I’ve built this from scratch—just me, my vision, and a deep desire to make people feel loved and seen. There’s a lot of heart behind every picnic, and I think that’s what people notice most. It’s not just pretty—it’s personal.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck—I believe in God’s timing. There have been so many moments in my life where things didn’t make sense in the moment, but looking back, I can see how every setback, delay, or even detour was preparing me for something greater. Starting Mystic Meadows wasn’t just a business move—it was a faith move.

As a single mom, doing this with limited resources and no roadmap, I’ve had to lean on God every step of the way. From unexpected blessings (like finding the perfect picnic pieces when I needed them most) to the strength to keep going on days I felt like quitting, I know I’m not doing this alone.

So while some might call it luck, I see it as grace. And I trust that as I continue walking in alignment with what I’m called to create, He’ll keep making a way—even when I can’t see the whole picture yet.
