Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started noticed there was a lack of Kpop stores and representation in the East Tennessee area, and thus started Ploghvey KPOP. Before our brick and mortar store opened in the beginning of 2024, we were doing pop-ups across the state, vending at Kpop and Asian culture related events. The response from the community was beyond our expectations, and their support made it possible for us to open our permanent location on Kingston Pike in West Knoxville just after a year. We are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive and loyal community and customer base here, and are excited to see what the future has in store for Ploghvey as well as the overall Kpop scene in Tennessee.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like all business owners, we have ran into many obstacles along the way. One in particular is finding the right products that our customers will enjoy. Kpop is a very broad, yet niche genre of music, with many different groups and artists, as well as styles of music available. We want the store to carry a large variety of albums and merchandise, so fans of many groups and not just the most popular ones, have the opportunity to get their hands on their favorite artists’ new releases in person. All our products are also imported from South Korea, the origin country of Kpop, to ensure they are official and the most authentic merchandise available. Because of this, the recent increases on tariffs have had significant impact on our business.

Ploghvey KPOP is East Tennessee’s first Kpop store, located in Knoxville, TN. We specialize in selling official Kpop albums and merchandise, and also serve as a community space for local fans to gather and connect. We pride ourselves in being a One-Stop Kpop Shop for those in the area, and are continuously expanding our brand to make Kpop more accessible to the community.
