Conversations with Stacey Faulkner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Faulkner

Hi Stacey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started making wreaths for local family and friends. Then I began to decorate birthday parties, weddings, and other events. This led into doing some home decorating, especially during holidays, to include Christmas trees. I’ve always enjoyed expressing my artistic style in these ways. An opportunity presented itself in my hometown. For a period of time, it looked like Jellico would not have a flower shop. It was at this time that I began to get serious about the idea of opening a shop. I wanted our citizens to have a nice option, whether they are celebrating special occasions or sending sympathy arrangements during a hard time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Things moved really fast at first. We wanted to get the space ready and open for the busy spring season. We were crunched for time, but made it happen and I’m really proud of the way we were able to make my vision a reality. As with all new businesses, there is a learning curve, but I get more comfortable each day.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I continue to decorate in various ways during my free time. Each floral arrangement gives me a blank slate to create something beautiful and unique…. I love that aspect of my work! I still do a lot of wreaths, and love taking care of my repeat customers. I am most proud of the reputation for quality and design that I have developed over the years. I always make sure anything with my name on it is something that I would be happy to receive.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I feel the way we ensure customer satisfaction is one of the most important things we bring to the table. Being able to hear someone’s wishes and then produce a product that meets or exceeds their expectations is our standard.
