Meet Jessica Morris of The Farm at Morris Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Morris

Jessica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey to managing a wedding venue is a bit unconventional, but it’s been an exciting adventure. I spent over a decade in the media industry, primarily in marketing, working with renowned brands like HGTV and Magnolia Network. During that time, I honed my skills in understanding audiences, crafting compelling narratives, and creating memorable experiences that resonate with people.

In 2015, when my sister-in-law decided to get married on the family farm it sparked an idea. Morris Springs had been in my husband’s family for generations, and seeing it transform into such a beautiful setting for her wedding inspired us to consider its potential as a venue. What began as a one-time event soon grew into a full-fledged business, driven by our family’s deep love for the land and commitment to preserving its legacy.

Today, I’m proud to run a wedding venue where we focus on bringing each couple’s unique vision to life. My background in media has given me a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of how to craft environments that tell a story. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited to continue creating magical moments for our clients.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to running a wedding venue has certainly had its bumps. When we first started, the idea of transforming the family farm into a wedding venue seemed straightforward, but the reality was much more complex. One of the biggest challenges we faced was the impact of COVID-19, which set everything back significantly. The pandemic caused delays in getting building materials and affected the availability of construction crews, pushing our timeline further than we had anticipated.

On top of that, my husband and I were were juggling full-time jobs with 60+ hours a week, managing the demands of the venue and caring for our two young children. Balancing these responsibilities was incredibly challenging, and after much consideration (and a lot of prayer), I decided to leave my full-time job earlier this summer to focus entirely on the venue (and childen, of course). This was a significant shift, but it has allowed me to dedicate the necessary time and energy to The Farm at Morris Springs.

Each challenge taught us something valuable, whether it was the importance of patience, the need for clear communication, or the value of staying flexible in our approach. These experiences have made us more resilient and have ultimately shaped the success of our venue.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Farm at Morris Springs is an idyllic and charming event venue set on a picturesque 200 acre farm that has been in our family for generations. We offer a unique setting where couples can celebrate their special day surrounded by natural beauty and rustic elegance.

One of the things we’re most proud of is the positive feedback we receive from our couples. Many mention how our venue’s unique atmosphere and personal touches made their wedding day truly special. We’re also proud of how we’ve managed to preserve the farm’s legacy while transforming it into a beautiful space for modern celebrations.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is creating meaningful and memorable experiences for others. Whether it’s through our wedding venue or in my personal life, I find great fulfillment in being part of moments that people cherish forever.

This value is deeply rooted in my background in media and marketing, where I learned the power of storytelling and creating experiences that resonate with people. The transition to running a wedding venue allowed me to channel this passion into something tangible—helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives in a setting that feels both personal and magical.

For me, every wedding is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to make a significant impact on our clients’ lives. Seeing the joy and satisfaction on our couples’ faces when they experience their dream wedding is incredibly rewarding. It’s this dedication to creating special moments that drives us every day and makes what we do truly meaningful.
