Rising Stars: Meet Nathan Morgan of Knoxville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Morgan

Hi Nathan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in raised just south of Atlanta, GA, I began playing guitar at age 11. I began playing live shows around 15, playing in both local churches and local clubs. I have spent the last 20+ years since playing live shows, writing and recording music, and seeing the world!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Certainly has not been a smooth road. I have suffered the loss of both my parents along the way. My mother in 2010, and my father in 2023. Both were incredibly supportive of me and all my musical endeavors. Another challenge, albeit a welcome challenge, is trying to write music that people can connect with. There are so many incredible artists and songwriters today that are all competing for your ear and your attention.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a musician/singer/songwriter. I specialize in writing, singing, and performing country-rock style music. I have developed a reputation during my music career as a professional, someone who is easy to work with, and someone who is reliable. Qualities that I feel are desirable of anyone in any field that is seeking success!

I am most proud of being a husband and father, but also realizing some of my wildest musical dreams. These include playing the Star Spangled Banner at a sold-out Turner Field in Atlanta, GA before a Braves game, playing with musical influences from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Molly Hatchett, Collective Soul, and ZZ Top to just name a few.

What puts me in a select group of artists is that I have had almost equal exposure and opportunity to learn and understand both the process of being creative and the business process of using my creativity to succeed on a financial and mental level.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always very outgoing and personable. I loved baseball (and still do), professional wrestling, and all things music!
