Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Flourish started with a passion for making unique flowers more accessible to the Knoxville community. This began as a single flower truck that popped up only on the weekends. Since 2018, we have grown into a full-service flower shop with two flower trucks, two storefronts, and a delivery service & we also offer wedding/event services. We are so grateful we get to serve this community!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think any entrepreneurial venture is smooth. There are exciting and smooth seasons, but there are also hard ones. The rapid growth we’ve been through has been our biggest hurdle. Keeping up with the infrastructure it takes to grow, like systems, processes, & staffing, are all challenges we face constantly.
I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a florist, I specialize in bringing people’s visions to life through flowers. This can be as simple as a paper-wrapped bouquet to a bridal bouquet on someone’s wedding day. Flourish specializes explicitly in creating a unique experience when it comes to flowers. This is true for our retail locations and the way we propose our weddings. We are most known for our charming 1960s flower trucks, which we park all over town on Fridays and Saturdays. We are one of the only florists in town that offer a per-stem bouquet bar where you can shop in any budget or price range.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We love being part of a community of makers. We have seen how passionate Knoxville is about their entrepreneurs and creatives, and we are grateful to be among them. I don’t have anything negative about being a business owner in the Knoxville community! We have been supported abundantly since day one, and that’s the only reason we can do what we do today.
