Hi Saad, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Knoxville, attending Farragut High School. I was invited by a family friend to work in their pharmacy during the summer after high school, and I found my true passion is helping the community. I attended the University of Tennessee, obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry before attending Mercer University – College of Pharmacy, where I graduated with my Pharm. D. in 2004. I returned to Knoxville, where I worked for a major retail chain for 20 years. During this time, I saw there were ways to increase patient care if only I weren’t under the constraints of a corporate entity. I built my dream in Oak Ridge and opened Oak Ridge Pharmacy in the summer of 2019. At Oak Ridge Pharmacy, the patient is not only another number but also a true member of our family. I can finally repay this community for all of the love and support they’ve given me by providing care for the people of the Oak Ridge area. Oak Ridge Pharmacy was one of the fastest-growing independent pharmacies in the Southeast. My family – wife of 20 years, Rima, 3 children – Bashar – 17, Jenna – 16, Yasmeen – 14. I am a Lifetime Volunteers fan! Go Vols!
Let’s dig deeper into the story – has it been an easy path, and if not, what challenges have you overcome?
A smooth road, No. People thought we were crazy, as we opened directly behind one major retailer and beside two others. When we were building, we heard, “Another pharmacy in Oak Ridge. Do we need another pharmacy?” At the time, there were 12 pharmacies in Oak Ridge. We have made a name for ourselves, standing out from all other pharmacies through our patient engagement, customer service, and genuine passion for caring for the Oak Ridge community. We have embedded ourselves in the community with sponsorships of local athletics. Within 4 months of being open, we were voted, and have maintained for the last 5 voting seasons, the Oak Ridge’s Best of the Best Pharmacy.

Oak Ridge Pharmacy is the heart of the Main/Wilson development in Oak Ridge, just off the Turnpike. We have been open since July 2019. We are a full-service pharmacy. We pride ourselves in our patient care. We offer med sync, dispill compliance packaging, auto-fill, and a convenient drive-thru. We are open from 9 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, and 9 am to 2 pm, Saturday. We are having a good time bringing in some of the over-the-counter items that people request – including Jordan’s Skinny Syrups, Sockwell compression socks, OrthoMolecular Vitamins, and Biolyte, to name a few!
