Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Georgelos.
Hi Tara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My journey began in 2013, right after I graduated high school in Los Angeles, CA, where I was born and raised. In 2018 my family of 3 moved to Knoxville when my fiancé’s job, Scott’s Hot Rods N’ Customs, relocated. I have a daughter, dogs, and chickens in kindergarten this coming school year, dogs, & chickens. I care deeply about the health of my clients while boosting their confidence. You can find me at Knoxville Hair Co., Knoxville’s newest salon, with its line of extensions- one of my favorite services. In the salon, I also specialize in blonding methods. Custom color, cuts, & waxing. When not with my family or in the salon, you can find me in the Smokys doing bridal hair and makeup or on an adventure outdoors.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a mother, battling gastroparesis & other health concerns while moving across the country, and rebuilding clientele, has been a detour off the smooth roads. My daughter was just 5 months old when we made the 3-day drive across the country, and instantly, I battled having to return to working retail, chronic illness, and anxiety; while getting familiar with a new city and a whole new life. I dedicated my heart and soul to motherhood, reversing/managing my health, and fulfilling my purpose as a self-employed hairstylist.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist and makeup artist. I’ve been behind the chair for almost 10 years now. I’m licensed in CA & TN and am certified in extensions, & multiple cosmetic companies. What sets me apart from most stylists is my range of styles and ability to connect with anyone of any age. I have expertise in the hair’s life cycle, overall health, and integrity, + making hair dreams a reality! I work at the only salon in Knoxville that has its brand of extensions, and I travel to do glam for weddings and other special events. I’m deeply proud of bringing out the most beautiful version of my clients while establishing ever-lasting relationships and working among other genuine, talented. Stylists, being able to create daily while contributing towards my family.
What do you think about happiness?
The little things in life make me happy. I’ve learned how long the days may be but short the years are. I find happiness in little moments with those I love, whether it’s my family, animals, guests in the salon, or places I enjoy visiting.
