Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Shank.
Hi Danielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out doing hair and getting my license in Orange County, CA at 19. I worked behind the chair for 11 years in Orange County before moving to the Knoxville area!
I worked in a salon for the majority of my career before starting a salon suite with my two friends. I had been working in the suite for two years before moving out here and starting over.
I have always prided myself on my hard work and dedication to making clients feel beautiful and happy with their service. I love continuing my education by taking classes and learning new techniques. I can’t wait to see where my career goes out here!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is always hard initially starting our because as bad as it sounds salons are like Starbucks now, there is one on every corner. You constantly have to prove yourself and your work to stand out to clients.
Once you can get to know someone on a personal level and help them feel comfortable and that they can trust that they are being heard it makes all the difference in the world. I’m always surprised at the amount of new clients I receive that say they never feel like they’ve been heard.
I know it will be a challenge to leave my family, friends, and clients after being in Orange County my whole life but I know starting over out here will be the best thing for our family and our future in order to be able to provide the best life possible
We’ve been impressed with Danielle Bajhart Hair, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I will be starting at salon Josie’s in Powell, TN at the end of May. I would consider myself to be a blonde specialist being that I’m from Orange County, although I enjoy doing all types of color and haircutting.
I pride myself on taking people lighter or blonder in a safe way, always preserving the integrity of the hair. I always keep the client’s best interest at heart and will always be honest with them I’m telling them if what they’re asking for is realistic and achievable for them.
My education was with Tony and guy but since then I have only used loreal professional color. I would like the readers to know that I will always look out for what is best for their hair and always do what I can to help them achieve their hair goals in a healthy way as well as teach them how to maintain their service and style at home.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I haven’t moved there yet but will be there within the month I love the endless opportunities and beauty that the city has to offer. I can’t wait to explore my beautiful new city!
