Daily Inspiration: Meet Charlie Walden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlie Walden.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started doing music as a little kid. Then I took a break from it for about 8 years didn’t really have an interest in it. Was more focused on getting a college offer and getting to the NBA, haha. Then, I started getting into trouble then my grandma passed and I got locked up, caught several cases and once I got out of jail, I decided to take music more seriously and work with animals to keep me out of trouble and focused on what I really want for myself.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Getting in trouble slowed my process down was in and out of court. My grandma passed I stopped writing music growing up in a single-family home without a mom or dad was also hard. He was around but he wasn’t there my grandma did the best she could at easing me and my siblings.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music. I don’t consider myself a rapper or singer because I do both I consider myself an artist. What sets me apart from others is I have my own style/flows I don’t try to copy another I just stay in my lane and do my own thing. You can find my music on all platforms under Raw Talent.

What makes you happy?
Making music/writing music. Going to the studio and getting to express my emotions in doing what I love and I’m good at. But also getting to work with dogs every day makes me happy although I would like to be able to do music full-time I want to run my own kennel in the future that would be ideal. I love dogs.
