I would not say that it has always been a smooth road. For many small business entrepreneurs, there are always obstacles in daily operations. No day is the same, and I have learned to “expect the unexpected”. However, it has always been a fun challenge to figure out the best way to approach and work through many different scenarios. Emma Dickenson

Over the years, Friday nights were designated to making bouquets for the market and Saturday mornings to working the table. While my mom dabbled in providing wedding flowers for a short time, she discovered growing the flowers was her passion, not arranging them. Meanwhile, I was desperate to get my hands on anything to do with weddings! She wanted to turn down wedding inquiries, but instead I asked her to pass them on to me. During college, I interned with a local wedding florist and learned the ropes of the wedding industry. Mandy Watson

We are a trauma responsive school in that our teachers are trained professionals who know how to accommodate children who have experienced varying degrees of trauma. Additionally, we seek to become a therapeutic hub for families by offering an open door policy to all therapists so as to create a therapeutic web around children where teachers, parents and therapists are all teamed up and working together for the good of the child. Offering affordable access for 70 families, Olive Tree works to empower confidence in families as they learn to navigate the ever changing landscape of education. Melissa Lushbaugh

During college, I began my career in restaurants, working as a server and bartender before quickly advancing to leadership and marketing roles in high-end establishments. I served as head bartender and later transitioned into marketing and event planning for several fine dining restaurants in Boca Raton, Florida.
