Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Clark.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my hair career in 2008. I always wanted to by a stylist like my grandmother, I moved to Europe for a year and got inspired and a soon as I moved back I started school. I went to Tri-City Beauty College. I booth rented until 2018, then started my own salon and have never looked back. I also decided in 2022 to become an Educator and went back to school to get that licensure. I taught at a local high school as the CTE cosmetology instructor for a year while running my business. After that year, I decided to focus on just my business and rebranded myself to Wild Honey Hair Parlor. A suite style salon that is a safe, comfortable, intimate space. I do still educate some now at a local beauty college, when needed, or to other stylist, but my main priority is my salon. I’m also certified in K-18, keratin treatments, pravana color, and barbicide infection control. I’m a color specialist, so my main focus is on coloring, blondes, and haircuts. I love what I do and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I feel this is the talent God gave me, and to help my clients not only look good, but feel good.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing good comes easy. Of course there has been struggles, running your own business is not always easy. Whether it be an economy issue, a landlord, covid era, or anything that can arise, but working hard, dedication and preserverance with goals is key. You keep pushing, growing and evolving in this industry. It is forever changing, and that’s why I love it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a color specialist, and specialize in blondes. I love color! I love doing Transformations on people. Just seeing the confidence and spark it can give them. I also build a very strong bond with my clients. I always stand by my work and make sure it’s 1,000 percent and they feel like a super model leaving. That all makes me fullfilled.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
My most important lesson is to listen. Really sit down and talk to your client’s and listen. Communicating. Take pride and dedication in your work. They are your walking art.
