Hi Peter, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We first discovered Sauna House in Asheville and immediately loved it. The experience, from the physical benefits of the sauna and cold plunge to the social connection and simple design, inspired us to bring a similar concept to Knoxville.
Our architectural backgrounds make us particularly sensitive to the impact of a well-designed space. Starting with the old folding building part of the Knox Sanitary Laundry complex, we found not only the perfect building close to the downtown core, the Old City, and the first ring of historic neighborhoods, but also one that had a history of its own that could tie into the new story we were telling.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With any large design and construction project, nothing goes exactly as planned. However, as we both share a background in architecture, construction, and development, we have been able to craft Sauna House Knoxville into a beautiful bathhouse serving our community.
We’ve been impressed with Sauna House Knoxville, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sauna House Knoxville is a community focused bathhouse. We are a modern take on an age-old wellness ritual. Sauna, cold plunge, and good vibes in a tech-free space. The community feel at Sauna House begins with warm, knowledgeable hospitality, setting the tone for a one-of-a-kind wellness experience. The bathhouse includes multiple saunas, cold plunges, outdoors courtyards, and ample lounge space with heated furniture to round out the relaxing, social vibe.

- Mobile Pop-up: $40/person; 1-hour session
- Mobile Pop-up: $30/person for group of 6 or more
