Exploring Life & Business with Manuela Connatser of The Canine Clubhaus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuela Connatser

Hi Manuela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Hello, my name is Manuela Connatser, and I am a certified, professional dog trainer. What started as a passion for dogs, has turned into my career that I love. I started The Canine Clubhaus in 2012 with a vision to help dogs be understood by their owner-guardians and to help owners to have a dog that is an well behaved, compassionate, and loyal companion.

I originally moved from my hometown of Heidelberg, Germany in 1998 to the United States after I married my husband, an army Staff Sergeant.

I was determined to follow the American Dream. In order to become a Certified Dog Trainer I started my education at a Behavior College in California and graduated with honors in 2008, then started The Canine Clubhaus in 2012. I have lived and worked as a dog trainer in Germany, California, and North Carolina. We settled in my husband’s hometown of Powell, Tennessee. Since living here, I have worked with several organizations including: The Humane Society of East Tennessee, Young Williams Animal Center, Oak Ridge Animal Shelter, and various Rescues in and around East Tennessee and beyond.

Dogs have always been a lifelong passion of mine. They are loyal companions who will never leave your side, no matter what the situation. They become part of our lives, our family’s and are always there for us.

Some of my specialties include:

General and advanced dog training and obedience
Dog Behavior and Dog Behavior Modification
Concept Dog Training
Service Dog Training – TADSAW (Train A Dog, Save A Warrior) program
Teach & Test all American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen programs
Games and Tricks
Public Speaking
Whole dog Health

I enjoy working and getting to know your dog household, as well as trying to make a difference and improve everyone’s everyday life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a smooth road with Boundaries firmly in place and my worst struggles along the way was Covid with Restrictions and fear.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Canine Clubhaus provides non-shock collar/Positive Reinforcement, in-home, at the Facility or any online platform services for dog households looking to build trust, respect, and companionship for their dog.

We help dog households achieve a harmonious and calm relationship with their companion through positive and progressive reinforcement.

Whether it’s obedience, behavior or behavior modification, The Canine Clubhaus works with all dogs, all sizes, all ages, all breeds and all owners.

We offer easy, customizable, and flexible training plans designed to meet the specific needs of each dog household. We also offer private classes when there are specific behavior struggles:

Fear/ Anxiety
Aggression
Basic / Advanced manners that is a custom fit to your dog household situations.
Owner/Guardian disabilities.

My favorite part of my branding is that I can teach your dog in German and English and I love giving back as in training Service Dogs.
I love being active in the community either events, parades or just helping out.

How do you think about luck?
I think luck is not really a factor for my Business. I set boundaries for my training clients and that has made my life a lot easier.
