Hi Kimberly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After experiencing severe postpartum depression following the birth of my first child and facing financial strain, I realized there had to be a solution. Coping with postpartum depression, I discovered that accomplishing small tasks throughout the day made a significant difference. It revitalized my spirits! However, the financial pressure of being a stay-at-home mom while relying on one income added to my stress. Struggling with both mental and financial burdens as a stay-at-home mom, I felt compelled to create Modern Day SAHM for mothers in similar situations to mine.
Modern Day SAHM has now grown to nearly 4,000 members in our Facebook Group with a high percentage of those actively seeking jobs on our platform. After several interviews with local news stations and Merit Street Media with Dr. Phil, Modern Day SAHM has seen a huge outreach in the community of SAHMs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have had some struggles, but we are also very new. The biggest struggle we have faced is convincing companies/small businesses to hire mothers. Hiring a SAHM is viewed in such a negative light and that is what Modern Day SAHM is working on changing.

Modern Day SAHM connects our stay-at-home mom community to companies/small businesses willing to hire them. We also provide resources to them like guest speakers who come in and talk about postpartum depression, resume help, how to organize your home, and so much more!
I specialize in creating an environment where moms are respected and allowed to work in flexible positions allowing them to remain at home with their children.
Our target audience sets us apart as we specialize in getting our SAHMs hired.
Our positive feedback we have received and how important this is to the SAHM community.
I want our readers to really understand why hiring a stay-at-home mom is so vital in our community. I want companies and small businesses to realize they can hire moms to do those little tasks throughout the day without having to pay a full-time employee. Despite all of that a company would be making a positive impact on our families across the United States!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years I hope to see a big shift in the mindset of hiring a SAHM. I hope to see that hiring a mom doesn’t need to be frowned upon because of children in the background. I pray to see a big shift in this soon and so do our moms!
