Exploring Life & Business with Sandra Parsons of Element Home Loans/NFM Lending

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Parsons

Hi Sandra , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Charity Chicks 11 years ago after I had left a previous employer who had a monthly dinner club that I enjoyed. Since I could no longer attend that group I started my own. But I wanted to expand beyond just food, drinks and socializing. I came up with the CC name and decided to add giving into my group. I believe that people want to give and if you tell them how, they often do. We started as a small group of 4 or 5 and have flourished to an online group of over 250 women. We meet in person monthly, typically on the first Monday of the month for dinner at rotating locations. We have 4 -16 women that attend. We choose a monthly cause and spread the word into our spheres of influence. For example, in October we will gather boots, belts and coats for Care Cuts. We have established drop off locations for folks and then we deliver them to Care Cuts in early November. We have hosted 5 food packs that packed over 125,000 meals for Second Harvest as well. The group members can share their causes and needs in the FB page and typically someone will step up. We are a casual group and not an organized 501 (c)3 and have no desire to be. The beauty of our group is there is no pressure, guilt or expectation for anyone to participate. We have expanded to a chapter in Blount County as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a pretty smooth and easy process. The food packs became a little much on me as the organizer and we have not continued to do those at the moment. People come and go in the group and that is okay as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a residential mortgage lender, and I serve all of Tennessee. I have been in the mortgage industry for over 27 years. I am known as the Loandini due to my ability to solve problems and get to the closing table for my buyer to achieve the dream of homeownership. I thoroughly enjoy my career and helping homebuyers and investors reach their goals.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love helping and teaching people. Whether that is professionally or personally. Spending time with my sons and granddaughters are what makes my heart sing the most!
