Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Brindley
Hi Kristina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kristina Brindley, and I am a nationally board certified acupuncturist. I received a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, and I am currently licensed by the state of Tennessee and Ohio Medical Boards. I am also a certified Reiki practitioner, and Tuning Fork Sound Therapy practitioner.
My story began when I was diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease and Epstein Barr virus at 16 years old, which attacked my central nervous system. My personal health journey dealing with a chronic illness led me to discover alternative methods of healing, and I was first exposed to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine during this time. After observing the benefits of acupuncture firsthand, I decided to pursue acupuncture school and underwent rigorous training to become a licensed practitioner.
Today, I am a nationally board certified acupuncturist with my own practice called Love and Light Acupuncture. Last year, I decided to move to Knoxville, Tennessee to pursue my passion of spreading the truth and knowledge of the health benefits of acupuncture and be able to assist others in the process of healing. My acupuncture practice is located in the Bearden area, where I offer acupuncture sessions to promote deep relaxation and stress reduction to address various heath concerns. I am very grateful for the opportunity to share this gift of healing with the community of Knoxville and offer a more integrative approach to health and wellness!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey to become an acupuncturist, like any profession, came with its own set of obstacles and challenges and my decision to pursue acupuncture school was both exciting and intimidating. During this time, my personal health journey continued to improve as I walked on my path and purpose towards becoming an acupuncturist. Throughout this journey, I persevered and completed the rigorous course work, clinical rotations, and passed the extensive board exams to become a licensed practitioner. Starting my own practice came with its own set of challenges, including setting up my clinic, building a business from the ground up, and educating potential patients about the benefits of acupuncture, which were initially overwhelming. Despite, these challenges, this journey has been incredibly rewarding and each of these obstacles I overcame strengthened my passion and commitment for this medicine. It brings me great joy to share this healing gift and to be able to see patients improve after each session.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very creative, compassionate and caring person. I enjoyed helping others, volunteering in my community and especially enjoyed working with children. These early experiences combined with my own personal health journey at a young age, naturally guided me towards health care and the field of acupuncture. I am very passionate about the benefits of acupuncture, having dealt with a chronic illness in my childhood, which has guided me to ensure each of my patients are treated with compassion, kindness and patience.
