Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I discovered functional medicine through my journey in infertility and pregnancy loss. I appreciate that functional medicine works to restore health and wellness and works to identify the root cause of symptoms. To offer the kind of healthcare I wanted myself may require that I open my practice! I am fortunate to marry holistic or natural approaches to healthcare with conventional or pharmaceutical approaches, which gives my patients a complete plan to restore their health.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business is challenging- especially when you are a businesswoman by necessity vs by training! There has been a learning curve regarding behind-the-scenes logistics, but practicing medicine in this capacity is 100% my calling and makes so much sense!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I proudly serve the women of Tennessee, helping them achieve empowering, validating, redemptive healthcare. Women deserve to feel heard and understood, and I am proud to do just that. I specialize in metabolic and endocrine dysfunction, along with gut healing. Some particular focus areas I have are fertility, perimenopause, mid-life, postpartum, and weight loss. I want women to know that I take their wellness seriously and want them to achieve a state where they don’t even need my services!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some changes you expect to see over the next five to ten years?
This kind of healthcare is what people are demanding! I am here for it! We have so much access to education and know how to achieve health now. I expect to be in a brick-and-mortar location in the next 5-10 years, and I would love to also move into functional obstetric care.
