Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Daugherty.
Hi Ali, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Reece, named after my son Beckham Reece, is a dream I’ve had for as long as I can remember. I finally went for it about 3 months before the pandemic began, but like many other small business owners, I had to table those dreams until we could sort through the future of in-person retail. Fast forward to October 1, 2022, and we’re officially back! We’ve had a couple of pop-ups, and the response has been super encouraging. My heart is always to create an experience for people in a shop, so I hope to make things a little more permanent soon.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No. I truly thought COVID was going to be the end of it all. So, timing has been the biggest hurdle, but I’m a little older and wiser now and hoping that if we can come back from the world shutting down, we can make it through anything!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in home decor, featuring modern & vintage goods—the mix of old and new sets us apart. We source pieces globally, and a lot of what we offer are one-of-a-kind items, so you can feel confident that what you’re buying is unique from its character and history. Outside the typical shopping experience, we also offer in-home styling and custom sourcing for vintage pieces. I’m most proud of the feeling we are trying to offer people in their homes — everything we have is meant to inspire calmness in your space.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I think it can be succinctly summed up: don’t give up on your dreams.
