Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Lane.
Hi Rebecca, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I became a Rodan+Fields consultant in September 2021. I had purchased LashBoost,(our #1 selling product) from a friend, & she kept “bugging” me about becoming a consultant. Still, I strongly opposed & didn’t want to be like all those annoying network marketing people I saw on social media. However, after a couple of weeks of using LashBoost. I was so blown away by the results that I wanted to try more of the products and be a part of the team! I quickly rose to the Executive Consultant status & just recently celebrated my 1yr “RODANNIVERSARY,” as we call it. I decided to take a different approach to running my business instead of practically begging people to sign up to be “Preferred Customers,” where they’d have recurring orders to keep up with. I decided to take a chance & invest the minute amount of money I had saved into buying inventory to have on hand, & for me & my business, it was a game changer. It’s no secret that we have that “I want it & I want it now” mentality. So by keeping my most popular inventory stocked & on hand, I can personally deliver orders either the same day or the next at the very latest. This drastically increased my clientele & my income.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m still a good way from where I ultimately want to be, but I’m definitely on the right path. I was once an opiate addict whom most people saw as a hopelessly lost cause. I remember even thinking that myself. In the darkest depths of addiction, there is no visible way out, not that it can be seen with the naked eye. Thankfully I ended up getting in legal trouble & sent to prison, which, compared to the alternative being a casket, the prison was the lesser evil, I guess you could say. I didn’t enjoy prison; however, I am thankful for the lessons I learned there. Sometimes I honestly can’t believe the life I live today. At one point, I was sleeping in my car because my family couldn’t deal with my behavior anymore, & now I am on my way to becoming one of the most successful members of my family.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
R+F was just the stepping stone to my entrepreneurial mindset, though. I currently have been focusing all of my attention on my R+F goals & helping women & men achieve their skincare goals & the confidence that comes with looking & feeling your best! Now, by adding hair care to our product line, I’ll broaden the horizon even more. I am researching to start my non-profit organization that focuses on helping children phase out of foster care or state custody when they turn 18. I also would like to create a program to help our veterans. It deeply troubles me that anyone who has served this country could be homeless or hungry regardless of their poor decisions. To sum it up, I spent too many years of my early adult life being a burden to society, so now I want to help & inspire as many people as possible with my story. I want to give back to my community & watch it flourish & grow. Most importantly, though, as a Christian woman & a child of God, my most important role or quest, if you will, is to share the gospel & the love of Jesus with as many people as possible.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I couldn’t ask for a better support system than my family. My mother especially. She refused to give up on me & therefore inspired me not to give up on myself. My life didn’t turn around overnight, & there have certainly been hiccups along the way, but the difference in the woman I am today vs. the troubled girl I was back then is that now I get right back up when I fall. Nothing is impossible anymore; it’s all within reach if you jump high enough. I know I may not accomplish everything I want to in this life, but by God, I’ll die trying!
