Hi Jessica , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a lover of crystals throughout my whole life and as a child I would explore around my neighborhood looking for cool looking rocks. I even have a memory of my childhood best friend and I going from door to door trying to sell rocks to our neighbors. Thankfully there were a few of our neighbors that were friends of my parents that bought one or two of our rocks to make us feel good! In the crystal and metaphysical community there are a lot of companies that offer the same products that I do however before I started my company I would always find that in my opinion they were overcharging for what they were delivering. This is one of the main reasons I decided to start my own an Crystal business. To offer affordable crystals to everyone at all price points as I believe everyone should have access to beautiful items no matter what their income level is!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would like to say that it’s been a smooth road; however, anyone that has started a business I’m sure could attest to the struggles that a new small business goes through when first starting out. Thankfully, I have worked out most of the kinks that I have come across in my journey of starting my business; however, I am sure there will continue to be obstacles that I will face throughout the years I have this business!

Wildcat Crystal Supply is an online crystal shop that offers many different types of crystals and specimens as well as custom carvings! It is very important to me that all of the items I offer are ethically sourced, so I have done research and have made it a priority to thoroughly look into any supplier that I use to source the crystals and other items I offer. I personally pick out each crystal that is available for purchase and will always put ethics above profit. The two most popular items that my customers have loved are the mystery boxes that I offer as well as the different Pokémon crystals. My customers love the concept of giving me a particular budget (Typically between $30-$150) and having me curate a box of beautiful crystals for them to open. They see it as a surprise coming in their mailbox and are always eager to receive them!
One thing that I am proud of as a company is how each month I dedicate 5% of net profits from the business to a charity. It has always been important to me to get back to my community and to help where I am able. Each month a different charity is chosen. For example, for August I chose the Humane Society of Tennessee Valley and for the month of September I chose Knox Pride as the recipient.
I have built my brand on Instagram and also have a Facebook page and an Etsy shop. Although there are several items listed in my Etsy shop, most of my sales are done via Instagram. I am able to communicate with my customers directly through messages where I send pictures and videos of crystals or items people are interested in. Think of it as a personalized shopping appointment!
About three months ago I decided to start vending at local pop-up markets and it has been an amazing experience! I love interacting with customers face to face and since I don’t have a brick and mortar store, this allows me the opportunity to do so! It also gives local customers the opportunity to come and see my inventory in person and to see items they have seen me post on Instagram.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Thankfully the Covid-19 crisis hasn’t affected my company as I started this company in mid-2022.
