Today we’d like to introduce you to Avriele Williams.
Hi Avriele, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I attended Tennessee State University where I obtained my degree in Psychology in 2011. I followed up my education at Argosy University and obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017. I have always had a passion for helping others, just was unsure the path I would take to fulfill that passion. My passion for psychology started with a psych class I took in High School. It was my senior year in High School and it was the first year this class was offered. During this class we watched a movie called a Beautiful Mind. I was very much intrigued by the mind of John Nash in this movie as well as observing a close family member experiencing some similar symptoms. As a little girl, I always thought my career would be in the medical field as a nurse. But my path has lead me to being a Mental Health Therapist and I am beyond grateful for this journey.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Is any road really smooth? Even after a road has been freshly paved, over time cracks and bumps appear. Just like life, it may be smooth in the beginning but over time, you are faced with challenges and obstacles. One of my biggest struggles was losing my father unexpectedly during my last year of my master’s program. It was even more challenging because I was living out of the state in Michigan at the time. Although it was hard to move forward with life, he was always very proud of me and my accomplishments. This is what gave me the strength to move forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
