Inspiring Conversations with Kelly Melear-Hough of Kelly Melear-Hough Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Melear-Hough.

Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
One of my primary areas of interest is personal transformation. I have been a student of personal development throughout my life, and I have learned that with determination, goals, and aligned action we can change our lives for the better.

Helping people make these changes brings me immense joy and a sense of fulfillment and purpose. I’ve always had a keen interest in people and what makes them tick. My undergraduate degree is in Anthropology and Sociology with a minor in Spanish.

I had the opportunity to study in Spain and Mexico and have always loved to travel and learn about people, culture, and languages.

My desire to use my bilingual abilities in a helping capacity led me to work in healthcare with immigrant Hispanic patients where I learned about the social determinants of health firsthand. I worked closely with patients as a medical Spanish interpreter, case manager, health educator, and advocate.

Later, I earned a Master of Public Health degree from UT Knoxville and moved into administrative roles in the nonprofit healthcare industry. During my 25-year career, I served as Chief Operating Officer/Operations Director for 12 years, with my final role being Co-Interim CEO of a Federally Qualified Health Center.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Towards the end of my career in healthcare, I was extremely stressed out, burned out, exhausted, and felt stuck in a life that was no longer working. I felt like no one could see the real me and there was no way out. I had a successful career, a great salary, and a loving family but I was tired and stressed out all the time.

Even though I had meaningful work and coworkers I genuinely cared about, I just didn’t feel like I was on my soul’s path. Then, I found the right people to help me do the deep healing work I needed to do to move into alignment and create a life that I love. I made the tough decision to leave my job and pursue a career in coaching and I’ve never looked back!

Now, as a Certified Life Coach, I guide others using very powerful tools that help them go deep into their body, mind, and spirit to do the healing needed for fast transformation.

There is a way out of the stress, confusion, and pain of living a life that doesn’t allow you to be your authentic self.
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

I am a Transformational Life Coach. I work with professionals and others who want to move out of stress and confusion into clarity and confidence so that they can take aligned action to create a life and work that they love.

I have created a 90-Day Path to Transformation in which I work one-on-one with clients to help them change their lives. The program is outlined below:

In this 90-day, One-on-One Coaching Program, I will lead you step-by-step through a process that will change your mindset so that you take actions that will shift you from a life that feels stressful and out of alignment to one filled with joy, authenticity, and fulfillment.

Step 1. Define Where You Are Now and Where You Want to Be in Your Life.

We’ll explore an overview of your life and how you got to where you are now. You will define your goals and clarify your dreams and what your ideal life would look like. You’ll go through a process that will help you get crystal clear on what you want, how you want to feel, and how to move forward to get there.

Step 2. Learn how to Reduce Stress and Anxiety and how to start Loving Yourself.

This is a hard one for many of us. In order to succeed in a society that values productivity and “working hard”, we have learned to deny and suppress our own feelings, desires, and physical needs. We’ll look at your self-talk – what does your inner voice sound like? Kind and loving, or harsh and critical? Do you constantly judge yourself and put yourself down or do you acknowledge your needs and desires and work with them instead of against them?

If you’ve been living a life that is stressful and out of alignment, basic energy tools like grounding and shielding will help to reduce stress and anxiety and start the healing process. I’ll walk you through these tools so that you can learn to use them on your own and start healing your nervous system.

Step 3. Listen to the Wisdom of your Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Gain clarity on your next steps to achieving your vision by journeying within to consult your inner Oracle, higher self, God, and/or compassionate helping spirits. No matter what your spiritual path is, you have a wealth of knowledge and guidance within you if you know how to tap into them.

I will guide you through inner (Shamanic) journeys to learn how to connect with this fountain of wisdom and teach you how to do it on your own so that you can connect with your inner wisdom any time you desire.

Step 4. Draft a Plan of Action.

With your newfound clarity, you will draft a plan of action to move toward your ideal life. This will give you structure, based on your own inner guidance so that you know what your next aligned steps are to creating your vision of the future.

Step 5. Facing your Fears and Blocks.

Fear and resistance to change are NORMAL and to be expected! We’ll use various energy tools to explore your specific blocks including journeying and shamanic healing. Becoming conscious and aware of your blocks to progress will allow you to address them head-on and gain the confidence and courage to move past them.

Step 6. Refine your Plan.

We’ll revisit your plan of action to celebrate your progress, and see where you are and what is left to do. We’ll break down the big steps into smaller steps, with a timeline, to help keep you on track.

Step 7. Work your Plan.

We’ll troubleshoot any challenges you experience and use energy tools to continue to address any blocks or resistance that come up (and they will come up) so that you stay on track to creating a life that you love.

Step 8. Celebrate your Transformation!

You now have a detailed plan of action and you are well on your way to achieving your dream life! Learn tips and techniques to stay on your path and keep yourself motivated and in alignment with what you want to create and how you want to feel. You got this!

What’s next?
I am completely focused on life coaching right now and helping people change their lives.

I believe that great changes are needed in our culture and our mindsets to help us heal and to be more authentic, both at work, at home, and in all of our relationships. As we observe our society becoming more divided, we can work to become more integrated within ourselves and allow our authenticity to shine through.

As we become more at home within ourselves we become more open to allowing others to express themselves authentically as well.
