Exploring Life & Business with Dane Little of Little Bread Puddings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dane Little.

Dane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Dane Little and I am the owner and baker of Little Bread Puddings. I have been the Pastry Chef at Seasons Innovative Bar and Grille since 2013. I decided to branch out in late 2018 with Little Bread Puddings to prove Knoxville with my own “little” twist on this classic dessert.

Little Bread Puddings is a local bakery specializing in gourmet bread puddings using local ingredients and artisan bread. I source all the bread that I use from Old Mill Bread Company located here in Knoxville.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Things started out steady as I was trying to get my business out there while still maintaining a full-time job working at Seasons and making all the desserts for there. All of a sudden word was getting around and things really took off with Little Bread Puddings. I am still making desserts for Seasons Innovative Bar and Grille, and also Seasons 101 is located in Sevierville, but I am still able to fulfill orders for Little Bread Puddings despite working essentially 2 full-time jobs.

If it could say “Seasons 101 which is located in Sevierville” rather than “is located”. Other than that everything looks good! Thank you so much again for the opportunity!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Little Bread Puddings is a local bakery specializing in gourmet bread puddings using local ingredients and artisan bread. I have a menu of over 20 different flavors that I typically offer, but if you would like something made that is not on the menu I will be more than happy to make that happen.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I never went to school for baking. I actually went to school for audio production. I pretty much grew up in a kitchen; my dad, Deron Little, has owned various restaurants and has been a Certified Executive Chef for most of my life. Needless to say, I tried my best to stay out of the industry, but I quickly fell in love with making desserts.
