Meet Shane Hite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Hite.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am from a very small town called Acton in California. I’ve always had an interest in film and production as I had my father and grandfather to learn from since they were in the industry. I started my career straight out of high school when I had the chance to enter the studio services.

I dealt with props and made sure that everything looked camera-ready as I would be the one next to the director monitors making decisions after each take. I took an interest in more of the camera operations and decided to branch out on my own after purchasing my first camera 6 years ago and divulging myself into my craft.

I taught myself every aspect of not only camera knowledge but how to run a business and treat my clients with a “they come first” mentality. I was obsessed, to say the least. I started in photography and quickly jumped into videography when I got a request for my first wedding. I captured both photos and videos for my couple and I was hooked. I have since filmed and captured over 20 weddings and continue to cherish my experiences and being able to connect to the ones I am lucky to be a part of their day.

It’s always a goal to correlate on a personal level and make that extra effort to make sure we are all on the same page so everyone is comfortable on the day of. I recently moved to Tennessee after falling in love with the people, atmosphere, and opportunity to be closer to family and friends. I am so grateful to be here and am looking forward to everything coming my way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been easy. I chose to leave a stable job and chase my dream. I had then moved to Arizona where I knew no one and when things were starting to roll, COVID happened and destroyed the momentum that I had gained.

With advertisement and self-promotion in hard times, I fell behind and felt that I was struggling with getting noticed in an oversaturated industry. It has been hard to showcase that my services would be different in not only quality but an overall professional and seamless experience.

Hearing stories of couples not caring for the photos captured or an attitude brought to their day is terrible and I strive to provide the exact opposite of that. I am a perfectionist and I don’t expect anything less.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer and filmmaker. In my opinion, there is a difference between a video and a film. I specialize in cinematic storytelling in both fields of photography and videography. Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days in your life and it is my privilege and duty to be the one to tell that story. Attention to detail and emotion are essential to being a part of your album and/or film.

I truly feel that my passion, work ethic, and creative eye sets me apart from others. The editing of my reels is curated with love, storytelling, and a cinematic feel that is tied together with fitting music and audio from your day. I am most proud of myself when I get those incredible calls, messages, and gifts from couples that are overjoyed with happiness and appreciation for the impact that I had on their day.

To have an album or film for them to look back on and relive their amazing day is priceless.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is being able to go on set with my dad. I grew up with that atmosphere and genuinely feel that I was made to do what I do now. I know how hard my dad worked and being a crazy sports fanatic kid, meant the world to me that both my parents were always there to cheer me on.

Family is incredibly important to me and that was instilled in me at a young age by the love and support I was shown.
