Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Dickson.
Hi Rachel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve known about and been a huge fan of Card My Yard since my friends started this business years ago in Austin, Texas. My family and I lived there for ten years and I saw when my friends began this biz! I’ve always thought it was such a great idea and would be a fun business to be a part of!
Fast forward to the past few years and my family and I moved to Knoxville for my husband’s job and to be a little closer to our families and the opportunity arose to purchase the local franchise here! Needing and wanting something to call my own, and contribute to my family and our local community, I reached out to the then owner of CMY West Knoxville and asked if she was hiring or needed help.
She then shared she was interested in selling to the right person and I couldn’t believe the opportunity to be an owner of a franchise of a business I already knew and loved! Totally a God-thing with the entire experience!! We jumped at the chance and have been going strong as the new owners since January 2022!
We absolutely love getting to spread joy through our yard signs across the West Knoxville area! It’s been such a huge blessing in every aspect!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We transitioned into the business over the Christmas holiday with the former owner who is absolutely amazing!! She helped me with the ins and outs of everything and get adjusted to doing the actual work of it.
We feel it was pretty seamless and worked very hard to make it that way for our customers with a business that she had already worked tirelessly for and already had going strong!

We are a local small business that helps our customers celebrate and honor all the things and events through our yard signs!
We have a large inventory of graphics, colors, and fonts to personalize yard sign greetings for every occasion and individual! Our business works hard to surprise the recipient and bring joy and fun to whatever the occasion may be.
I feel we are the premier celebratory yard sign company with our signs, business model, amazing corporate and fellow franchise owner support and customer experience-this is what I feel sets us apart and I’m so proud to be a part of!

As I mentioned, I’ve known and loved this business since it began and truly believe it’s been a God thing for us to be the owners of a location in our current city!
