Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Miller.
Hi Kelsey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sure! It’s been a bit of a winding but beautiful journey. I’ve always had a love for fashion and helping women feel their best. I started working retail when I was 15, and that turned into studying fashion merchandising at MTSU, then working as a buyer and sales rep in the fashion wholesale world. I loved curating clothing and styling looks, but what really lit me up was helping real women feel confident in their everyday lives, not just on a runway or in a showroom.
Fast forward to 2020 (hello, pandemic pivot!), I started getting texts from friends and family asking me to help them organize their homes and closets. I had always loved organizing, but it never clicked that it could be a business until that moment. Something about blending fashion, functionality, and helping women simplify their lives just clicked. That’s when I launched Klosets by Kelsey.
Today, I offer a mix of organizing and styling services—whether it’s editing a cluttered closet, packing a home for a move, refreshing a wardrobe, or styling someone for a new season of life. I work with women going through big transitions—new babies, new homes, new jobs and I truly believe that when your space and your style feel aligned, everything else just flows a little easier. It’s been such a joy to build something that combines my passion, creativity, and love for community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say it’s been smooth, starting your own business is a huge risk in itself. But I will say the road has felt right because I truly feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose by helping people. That’s what keeps me going, even when things get tough.
As an entrepreneur, I wear all the hats. I’m not only the one doing client-facing sessions, but I’m also behind the scenes managing software systems, sending emails, creating content, marketing my services… the list goes on! There’s no real “off” switch, which can be overwhelming at times, but also incredibly rewarding.
I’ve made some great business decisions, and I’ve also had a few flops, but that’s part of the journey. Some ideas work, some totally don’t, but each one has taught me something valuable. I honestly couldn’t do what I do without the support of the Aught community here in Knoxville. Being surrounded by such inspiring female entrepreneurs has kept me accountable and constantly encouraged me to show up as my best self, even when the path feels unclear.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Klosets by Kelsey is an organizing and styling business based right here in Knoxville. I specialize in helping women simplify their lives through my services. I offer a mix of services like home and closet organization, wardrobe editing, personal shopping, and seasonal styling. Whether someone is preparing for a big life transition like moving, having a baby, or just feeling stuck in their style, I help them create spaces (and wardrobes!) that feel beautiful, functional, and true to who they are right now.
What sets my brand apart is the blend of organization and styling, not just wardrobe styling, but also interior styling. I truly believe your environment should reflect what brings you joy. When your home and your personal style feel aligned, everything else flows more freely.
I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. This work is personal. I’m invited into their homes, their closets, and sometimes really emotional chapters of life. Being able to help them let go of the overwhelm and step into a space that feels peaceful, intentional, and “them” is the heart of what I do.
I also want readers to know that my services are completely personalized. I tailor each service package to the specific needs of my clients, no two projects look the same. If you’re curious how I can help you, I offer a free virtual consultation to chat through your space and see if we’re a good fit to work together. You can head to www.klosetsbykelsey.com to schedule a time. I’d love to meet you!
What does success mean to you?
This is such a tough question because, truthfully, I’m still figuring it out. What success means to me has definitely evolved over the years. When I was younger, I thought success meant making as much money as possible and keeping up with the hustle culture we’re so often taught to admire. But now that I’m a new mom, my priorities and perspective have completely shifted.
At this stage of my life, success isn’t about a dollar amount, it’s about creating and sticking to realistic boundaries in my business, with my family and friends, and with myself. It’s about being present, aligned, and at peace with the life I’m building.
When a client tells me they feel lighter, more confident, or finally at peace in their home now that’s what success feels like to me. Helping someone feel more like themselves in their space is worth more than gold. That’s the kind of impact I want to continue making.
Pricing:
- Talking about pricing can be tough, but I also believe in being transparent and realistic. My services typically range anywhere from $400 to $3,000, depending on the scope of the project. I tailor each package to fit the unique needs of every client, which is why I offer a free virtual consultation to better understand your goals, your space, and your budget. I can usually work with a wide range of budgets, but the services I provide will naturally reflect what’s doable within that range. That’s why consultations are so important, they help me create a plan that’s both effective and realistic, so we’re all on the same page from the start. If you’re curious what that might look like for you, I’d love to chat! Head to www.klosetsbykelsey.com to schedule your free consultation.
