Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Gawreluk.
Hi Emily, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ginger Lane Esthetics began as a dream turned into “leap of faith”. I was in my mid-thirties looking for something that gave my day to day meaning and enjoyment. I had always worked in healthcare, specifically the aesthetics side such as dermatology, med-spa setting and just loved that people always left feeling better about their day and themselves. I wanted to be the one who made others’ day brighter. Freshly transplanted to Knoxville in 2020 my husband and I decided, “let’s do this!” So, I went through the necessary schooling and was licensed by the State of Tennessee in Aesthetics in early 2022.
Ginger Lane Esthetics began in a small suite inside Niche Boutique in Powell, TN and very quickly outgrew itself into what it is today. I grew this dream by giving the best parts of myself to everyone I met. I lived and breathed my little space. My people really showed up for me with their support and eagerness to spread the word about my space as well. I had a great support system through Lisa (Niche Boutique) who was like my spirit guide on days when I felt like giving up. Ginger Lane Esthetics is built on the foundation that my love for helping others always comes first. Everyone is welcome at Ginger Lane Esthetics.
Now located in West Knoxville operating out of S Salon and Spa Studios with enough space to continue to grow, I get to work alongside my best friend and some other great peers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey to building Ginger Lane Esthetics to what it is has definitely not been easy. I started out a brand new business with hardly knowing anyone in the Knoxville area. I was a “stranger” trying to build relationships. It’s like being a small kid at a new school on the playground trying to make new friends — all while being an extremely introverted human. I networked, I went business to business, I had booths at several vendor markets just hoping to talk to people, to share my passions.
I think for me the biggest struggle along the way was constantly thinking or feeling like I wasn’t good enough to do that I was doing. The self doubt really got to me, especially on the days when your whole day of appointments falls apart. My husband has been my rock through it all and never stops believing in me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say my specialty has definitely narrowed down to barrier repair. With all the beauty influence of social media people really get run astray on what is actually best for their skin and how to properly nurse it back to health.
In the summer months, I am most known for being your waxing or spray tan bestie.

I believe the little things are what sets me apart from others. Every new client walks away with a gift and I think that really matters to people. I’m not trying to sell you anything. I just want you to be happy with your services without pressure.
Most of my clients have become my friends and I get to be a part of their lives and hear about their highs and lows. I get to laugh and cry with them.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe my consistency and stubbornness has been important to my success as a solo Esthetician. It’s not easy to build a clientele in a town you’re not from.
