Hi Micaela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be in an industry that helps people feel cared for. I worked as a CNA in high school & for a long time I thought that meant I would end up in nursing or psychology — I’ve always had a heart for helping others feel better inside and out. When I discovered esthetics, something clicked. It blended everything I loved: connection, care, confidence, and the ability to make people feel truly good in their own skin.
Right out of esthetician school I opened my own business. For about a year I ran my own business while also working at a franchise. I knew that working for myself was my goal, so I left the franchise & I decided to take the jump and go all in on my own business. It was nerve-wracking at first, but my business has grown a lot over the past 3 years & I have met the most amazing people. My space has become a place where clients can not only take care of their skin, but also relax, unwind, and reconnect with themselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any business owner, I’ve faced my share of challenges, One if the biggest has been learning to quiet the noise — the fear of failure & worrying about what people think. When you put your name behind something you love, it’s vulnerable. But over time, I’ve realized confidence grows with consistency. Every happy client, every transformation, every small win is a reminder that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.
